Announcing A New Feature: Set it & Forget it

One of the best things about working at Paytm is how quickly we adapt to change. If our customers request something new or want us to make an improvement to an existing feature, we’ll find a way to make it happen. Which is why we are excited to announce our new Set it & Forget it feature, as requested by our Paytm Canada customers! With Set it & Forget it, whether you’re at home or traveling you will never have to worry about missing a bill payment.

Here’s what’s new:

  1. Schedule all of your bill payments in advance by pre-selecting the date that you want to pay it.
  2. Select the frequency of how often you want to pay that bill – once, monthly, quarterly, annually, etc.
  3. Enter the amount that you want to pay, and your preferred payment method for that bill. Whether you want to make the bill payment using Paytm Cash, Credit Card, Debit Card or your Linked Bank Account, you’re in control of choosing the payment method for each bill.

Our app is still evolving, and we will continue to fine tune this feature. As of now, customers will have to set the bill payment amount, which may be less or more than the actual bill payment amount owed. If the scheduled amount is less than the actual bill amount, you can login to the App and manually pay the difference (just as you’ve done before).

With Set it & Forget it you have the ease of knowing that all your bills are being paid on time. You won’t have to worry about remembering the passwords for every service provider, or worse trying to remember where you placed that paper bill! We have the largest number of service providers on our app, so you can easily schedule your bill payments and rest assured that they will get paid on time. And, the best part is that you can still collect Paytm Points for every bill payment that you make with our app, and redeem them for tons of great stuff!

You can’t really “forget it” if the bill might be more than what is scheduled. For that reason this won’t be a feature I’d use.

Sorry to hear that. We are always improving our features and the app experience. You can always set the bill amount to what you generally pay every month. Once you receive your bill, and you know the exact amount you can use the App to pay the remaining amount by tapping on ‘Pay Now’.

I am thinking of connecting my debit n my credit cards to paytm to pay the bills but one thing that bothers me is that your company is from India n i heard a lit if fraud originating from India.if there is a fraud from canadian merchant it can be tracked easily n have money back very quickly.dont take it personal but this is my reservation while doing a business with u.

Thanks for your honest feedback! Rest assured that the Paytm Canada app is secure. In fact, the fraud engine that handles every transaction for the Paytm India app (which has about 5 billion transactions annually) was built by a team of engineers from our Toronto-office.

With this feature there is a bug/defect. When prompted for Payment Method, displayed is only the bank accounts. It allows to Add Credit Card but does not show the list of CCs already defined in list of Payment Methods.
Please advise.

This is great for a bill that never changes. But for something like utilities, this is not that useful. You need to introduce a feature to pay the full amount due, like pre-authorization or credit card would do.

Not really an improvement for the app. I set up a bill payment for the beginning of the month to try the new feature but I didn’t get any points because money from my account was widthdrawn from my account in the previous month so I hit the point limits there. Paytm support didn’t give me the points back for the current month. I will rather be in control paying bills by myself because I will know if I get my reward or not.

I am new to this and still confused about paying credit cards.
I use my MasterCard for most of my bills, how would I be paying my MasterCard bill itself?
Is it by using my debit account?

Once Paytm is able to pay the exact amount I will use it. Until then I will stick with pre-authorized payments for my bills.

I have only received 1000 bonus points for sign up, where is says 10,000 bonus points for new sign up. Please confirm?

This scheduling feature is having bug, paying out when it should be stop from recurrence.

I’ve asked the support to help to get the payment back when it’s still at ‘in progress’ status but got poor response. Contacted the vendor saying that the refund need to be requested via bank but the bank here is paytm whom issue the payment for us… at this time I still got no response from the paytm support regarding the ticket. … bad!

If u schedule payment, fine, but don’t try the reoccurrence setting that’s my tips until it get fixed.
